Willie A. Alvarenga is a graduate of the Brown Trail School of Preaching (2001). In 2016, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Heritage Christian University in Florence, Alabama. He went on to receive a Master of Arts in New Testament from Amridge University in Montgomery, Alabama, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2020.
In 2009, Willie established the Spanish ministry at the Plano East Church of Christ in Plano, Texas. He served as the minister for five years, laying a foundation for the congregation. After his tenure, Galileo Pineda, a graduate of the Spanish Department, took over and continued the work. Today, Enrique Morales, another graduate from the Spanish Department, serves as the current minister, continuing the legacy of outreach and service within the Spanish-speaking community.
For over two decades, Willie has faithfully served as the director and instructor of the Spanish Department at the Brown Trail School of Preaching. Since December 2022, he has also worked as the Spanish minister for the Brown Trail Church of Christ.

Willie is also the director and host of the weekly Bible-based program La Verdad en Amor («The Truth in Love») and has shared the gospel across multiple countries, including the United States, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama.

In addition to his ministry work, Willie serves as a Notary Public in the state of Texas. He is married to Sister Lucy, and together they have two daughters, Maggie and Vanessa. They also cherish the memory of their two sons, Juan and Avon, both of whom have passed away. Maggie is married to Marco Arroyo, who preaches in Seagoville, Texas. Willie and Lucy are proud grandparents to two granddaughters, Melania Grace and Mayla Eirene.
